The journey began in 2022
after looking at stuff on Pinterest
I knew nothing about all of this… I liked Bed Racks and wanted one, thought Jimny’s were cool, and here we are…
On the 22nd of September at 20:14, it all started, I think, that’s what the time stamp of the first bed rack files I saved shows…

Designed to be versatile
is what other would say, no I just liked the look haha...
The entire company is based on taking inspiration from around the world, as nothing we do these days is truly original.
If I like it and find it cool, I’ll then look into how I would improve on the design, learning what the other thing does and making it fit around what I would like it to do in my mind.
Like this Chinese ladder, liked the form factor, but the step height is so stupid. Took inspiration and made it work for what I need, a short wife that doesn’t have the legs of an NBA player.

is what drives me to create these things.
Making things that have some thought behind them is what drives it all. Looking at other things on the market and then finding ways to better them if possible, and then also leaving things be if it isn’t possible to improve or make it our own.
No use in trying to re-invent the wheel if it’s already perfect, no fun in that, and if it’s not fun, then I don’t really care.
Over the years, things have been created and made, worked on and re-worked, so much so that in 2024, my wife started getting to a point where she told me to either start getting serious about turning this into a business or get these things off of her lounge floor.
In 2025, it started coming to a point where I went through each product and finished it by the end of 2025. L.J. started getting involved with making things as well.
Working and living between Australia and South Africa has allowed me to open the door where we are manufacturing in both Gauteng for SA orders and in Queensland for AUS orders.
So that’s why there’s the term Aus-Africa.
That’s the story about us, making things our friends want and we think are cool.
